Wieblingen has been a Heidelberg district since 1920 and has kept its village character. The historic village core with Wieblingen Castle (today home to the Elisabeth von Thadden School), its proximity to the Neckar and well-connected residential areas make Wieblingen an attractive quarter for families.
Wieblingen lies on the left bank of the Neckar in the west of Heidelberg and was an independent village until it was incorporated in 1920. The historic village core with its narrow lanes and old building stock still forms a quiet counterpoint to the surrounding residential and commercial areas.
Its best-known building is Wieblingen Castle, a baroque palace with a park that today houses the Elisabeth von Thadden School. Good transport links, plenty of greenery and the nearby Neckar with its cycle paths make Wieblingen a popular, family-friendly place to live.
