District

Rohrbach

An established suburb in the south with the Boxberg hillside, its own village centre and a mix of long-time residents and young newcomers.

Rohrbach is a typical south-west German suburb, incorporated into Heidelberg in 1927. It has its own centre around the Rohrbacher Markt, characterful residential streets and an active club scene. From here the view stretches across the Rhine-Neckar region all the way to the Palatinate.

Rohrbach was an independent village for centuries before being incorporated into Heidelberg in 1927. That past is still tangible: the district has its own centre around the Rohrbacher Markt, historic buildings and a lively club scene that keeps the village character alive.

Its setting on the transition to the Boxberg slope is scenic: residential streets climb the hillside, opening up wide views across the Rhine plain as far as the Palatinate. The mix of long-established families and younger newcomers makes Rohrbach a sought-after place to live in the south of the city.
